Decoding the New Cold War: Geo-political Tensions in 21st Century

Abstract
The New Cold War has reshaped global geopolitics, transitioning from military confrontations to economic, technological, and hybrid warfare strategies. This research examines the shifting power dynamics with a focus on Central Asia, a region caught between the strategic interests of the United States, China, and Russia. Using a qualitative methodology, the study explores key geopolitical theories, including multi-vector foreign policy, regional security complex theory, and economic interdependence. Findings reveal that economic dependencies, cybersecurity threats, and trade realignments significantly impact Central Asia’s geopolitical positioning. The study further highlights how technological advancements, hybrid warfare tactics, and strategic alliances are redefining the global order.Policy recommendations emphasize diplomatic neutrality, cybersecurity infrastructure, trade diversification, and regional cooperation as essential measures for stability and autonomy. This research contributes to understanding how Central Asia can navigate geopolitical tensions while securing long-term economic resilience and strategic independence in an evolving multipolar world.
