DYNAMICS OF ACCELERATED STUNTING REDUCTIOIMPLEMENTATION BASED ON THE FIVE PILLARS OF POLICY IN ACEH BESAR REGENCY

Abstract

Stunting and malnutrition result in significant economic losses for Indonesia. According to a World Bank study, economic losses due to stunting and other malnutrition are 2-3% of a nation's total GDP. This malnutrition issue urgently needs to be addressed because the losses it causes are significant. Based on the description in this study, the following problems can be formulated: 1) What are the dynamics of the implementation of accelerated stunting reduction based on the five policy pillars in Aceh Besar Regency?, and 2) What forms and types can be found in the dynamics of the implementation of accelerated stunting reduction based on the five policy pillars in Aceh Besar Regency?. The research method used in this study is a qualitative method. The informants in this study were 1) the Head of the Aceh Besar Regency TPPS (Student Action Plan for Children), 2) the Head of the Regional Development Planning Agency (Bappeda), 3) the Head of the Health Office, 4) the Head of the DP3PP & PA (Regional Empowerment and Child Protection Agency) and staff, 5) the Sub-district Head, 6) the Head of the Community Health Center (Puskesmas), 7) the Village Head, 8) the Aceh Besar Regency Government represented by the Social Service, and 9) the Mother of a Stunting Toddler. The results of this study conclude that the acceleration of stunting reduction based on the five policy pillars in Aceh Besar Regency, particularly Seulimum District, is not yet optimal. The main obstacles include a lack of integrated cross-sector commitment, low community participation, budget constraints, and socioeconomic and family education factors. Strengthening collaboration, increasing nutritional awareness, and environmental improvements are needed to support sustainable stunting reduction.
