Main Article Content
Abstract
The two schools of thought, modernists and postmodernists, have had a significant impact on philosophical advances throughout history. Numerous literary works explore the two ideologies, each offering a distinct perspective on the universe. Therefore, the goal of the study is to review research works on the six ways that modernists and postmodernists interpret the world over the two eras. The study will also cover a detailed discussion of the paradigm shifts between the two intellectual movements and ideas. Despite having distinct viewpoints on philosophical advancements, the literature showed that both eras made significant philosophical contributions to the social sciences. While the postmodernists' research is likely to take the shape of a typical science and lean towards closure, the modernists examine the innate forces that work against closure and stasis.
