Abstract

This article proposes an integrative pedagogical model for developing professional competence through digital, medical, and linguistic pedagogies in higher education. In contemporary professional education, competence is no longer limited to theoretical knowledge or technical skills; rather, it includes digital literacy, clinical reasoning, professional communication, ethical responsibility, intercultural awareness, and reflective practice. Although digital pedagogy, medical pedagogy, and linguistic pedagogy have been widely examined as separate domains, limited attention has been given to their systematic integration within a single competence-development framework. This conceptual article addresses this gap by synthesizing relevant literature on digital education, medical pedagogy, linguistic competence, professional communication, and competency-based higher education. The proposed integrative model views professional competence as a multidimensional construct formed through the interaction of digital competence, clinical-professional competence, linguistic-communicative competence, reflective competence, and ethical-intercultural competence. The article argues that professional competence develops more effectively when learners engage in authentic tasks, digitally supported simulations, discipline-specific communication, collaborative problem-solving, reflective assessment, and intercultural interaction. The proposed model offers theoretical and practical value for curriculum design, teacher training, interdisciplinary education, and future empirical research. It also suggests that the integration of digital, medical, and linguistic pedagogies can prepare students for complex professional contexts where technological knowledge, clinical expertise, and communication skills are inseparable.
