Abstract

Banten Province topographically includes lowlands, hills, and mountains with coastal, rural, and urban classifications. With these three classifications, the level of education of the people in the Banten Province area is different. Referring to these differences, an empowerment design was made based on topography and education level. Meanwhile, to provide treatment to the community with these differences, a contextual learning model was created. The empowerment design was created with the aim of improving knowledge and economics in families at risk of stunting. To achieve this goal, it was made with a 4D model (Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate) with the target population of people at risk of stunting in Banten Province. To test the reliability of the model, tests were carried out in coastal, rural and urban areas. In coastal areas, it is carried out in Labuan District, Pandeglang Regency, rural areas are carried out in Binuang District, Serang Regency, and in urban areas, it is carried out in Citangkil District, Cilegon City. The results of the model test in coastal communities for mechanical fish processing  obtained an N-Gain value of , agricultural and plantation product innovations in rural communities were obtained, while in urban communities related to the treatment of non-organic industrial waste by recycling, a value was obtained. Referring to the results of the trial, empowerment with a contextual learning model is effective in improving the knowledge and skills of families at risk of stunting in coastal, rural, and urban areas. Although the increase in the effectiveness of the model has not been optimal, there is hope to minimize families at risk of stunting in Banten Province.
