Abstract

To investigate the socio-legal issues and opportunities to create an inclusive space for LGBTQIA+ people in the workplace, this study explores the interplay between legal measures, organizational policies, workplace inclusiveness, and stakeholder attitudes. The research is of qualitative type, descriptive and explanatory, only using secondary data collected from some laws, judicial cases, government reports, corporate diversity policy, scholarly articles and some national and international organizations reports. The results indicate that while there has been important legal development through judicial recognition and policy changes, workplace inclusion is not yet uniform, as there are insufficient legal protections, differences in organizations, unconscious bias and lack of implementation. The research also shows that inclusive corporate policies, supportive management, diversity training, and positive attitudes from employers and co-workers are all strong predictors of increased job satisfaction, psychological health, promotion and organizational commitment among LGBTQIA+ employees. It argues that any move towards translating constitutional equality into meaningful inclusion of people in the workplace and sustainable organizational development will require effective collaboration among the various actors, including civil society, corporate organizations, and policymakers.
