Voicing Draupadi in the Digital Age: Literary Resilience, Gender Justice, and AI in the Humanities

Abstract

The paper investigates Draupadi, the fire-born heroine of the Mahabharata, as a potent symbol of strength for participants in current feminist discourses, psychoanalytic approaches, and AI-based pedagogy. When literature shifts from manuscripts to metadata, our reading of the Mahabharata and other epics is radically transformed, creating space for new understanding of empowerment, equity and resistance.

The study reflects on Draupadi from a psychoanalytic perspective and finds that she is a legend and a character who bears unresolved trauma, retained agency and that she is a representation of rebellion. In this paper, we study the role of AI tools, digital humanities platforms and online courses in rethinking Draupadi’s story in the hope of fostering gender awareness and justice.

The research investigates the value of automated AI tools (e.g., text analysis, emotion extraction, interactive storytelling) for literary studies and interrogates issues of cultural authenticity and bias. In turn, it responds to the ways in which digital resources are transforming language use, the process of storytelling, and pedagogical styles in literature classrooms. The character of Draupadi can be traced across a range of hyperconnected media and technologies to see how it is transformed through the use of digital resilience, language adaptation and feminist storytelling. Linking digital resilience, language adaptation, and feminist storytelling allows us to study how the character of Draupadi changes in different types of hyperconnected media and technologies.

To sum up, this paper supports a thoughtful and creative way of combining technology in humanities work with an analytical but imaginative approach, ensuring that the connected ancient message of Draupadi can be appreciated in the present as both a sign of cultural continuity and one of progress.
