Technology-Driven Social Innovation and Inclusive Growth: Policy, Practice and Resilience in the Digital Era
Main Article Content
Abstract
Purpose: This study examines how digital transformation contributes to green growth and inclusive development in the context of emerging economies. It aims to explore the role of digital platforms, fintech innovations, and blockchain-enabled systems in enhancing access to financial services, healthcare, and sustainable livelihoods. By drawing on comparative evidence from India, Kenya, and Latin America, the paper seeks to understand how technology-driven social innovation can strengthen resilience, reduce inequality, and support the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Design/Methodology/Approach: The study adopts a mixed-method approach combining qualitative and quantitative analysis. Comparative case studies from India, Kenya, and Latin America are examined to identify patterns of digital adoption and social innovation. Thematic analysis is used to assess policy frameworks, while empirical indicators such as digital transactions, mobile money usage, and remittance costs support the analysis. The research evaluates inclusion and resilience through selected criteria, linking technological interventions with sustainability outcomes.
Findings: The findings reveal that digital technologies significantly enhance financial inclusion, reduce transaction costs, and improve access to essential services. Fintech solutions, mobile money, and blockchain-enabled supply chains contribute to sustainable livelihoods and environmental efficiency. However, the impact is strongest where supportive policies, robust infrastructure, and institutional capacity exist. Persistent challenges such as digital divides, regulatory gaps, and uneven implementation continue to limit the full realization of inclusive and sustainable growth.
Originality/Value: This research contributes to the literature by integrating digital transformation, green growth, and social innovation within a comparative framework. It provides empirical insights linking technology adoption with sustainability and inclusion outcomes. By combining case-based evidence with policy analysis, the study offers a comprehensive perspective on building resilient digital economies. Its interdisciplinary approach bridges gaps between technology, business, and governance, presenting a practical framework for inclusive and sustainable development.
