Determining Normative Levels for Thought Control Strategies in Volleyball Players

Abstract
This study aims to determine normative levels of thought control strategies among Volleyball players to enhance psychological assessment and mental training within the sports framework. The research problem is to identify a normative levels of thought control strategies in Volleyball players and the feasibility of classifying individuals based on these levels to facilitate appropriate psychological interventions. The researchers utilized a descriptive survey methodology deemed suitable for the study's nature. The research was conducted on 100 Volleyball players in Baghdad during the academic year 2025-2026. The research sample comprised 100 players, constituting the entire study population (100%). Researchers created a scale of 18 items over 6 domains to assess the thought control strategies of Volleyball players. The research indicated a disparity in thought control strategies among Volleyball players. This indicates a disparity in their cognitive and psychological capacities, which impacts their performance in the competition.
