Abstract

Professional satisfaction among elementary school teachers is a critical factor influencing the quality of education, teacher effectiveness, and students' academic development. This study examines the professional satisfaction of elementary school teachers in Andhra Pradesh from a holistic perspective by exploring the various organizational, professional, psychological, and social factors that shape teachers' experiences. The study adopts a descriptive research design based entirely on secondary data collected from books, research articles, government reports, policy documents, journals, and official educational websites. The analysis focuses on key dimensions such as work environment, administrative support, leadership, professional development, workload, recognition, work-life balance, technological adaptation, and psychological well-being. The findings reveal that professional satisfaction is significantly enhanced by supportive leadership, collaborative school culture, opportunities for career advancement, and continuous professional development. Conversely, excessive administrative responsibilities, inadequate infrastructure, occupational stress, and limited professional autonomy negatively affect teachers' satisfaction and performance. The study emphasizes that improving teacher well-being requires a comprehensive approach involving effective educational policies, institutional support, and teacher-centred professional development initiatives. The research concludes that enhancing the professional satisfaction of elementary school teachers is essential for improving instructional quality, strengthening educational outcomes, and ensuring the successful implementation of educational reforms in Andhra Pradesh. The study provides valuable insights for policymakers, educational administrators, school leaders, and future researchers.
