Abstract

The city of Basra held a distinguished position, renowned for its scholars, particularly those of Basra. It was a center of learning, producing eminent scholars of various disciplines, renowned for their writings. Among these scholars was the eminent jurist, Muflih ibn Hasan al-Saymari, who became famous for his works in diverse fields, establishing himself as a prominent Basran scholar. Given his scholarly stature and the diversity of his writings, which encompassed jurisprudence, theology, hadith studies, history, linguistics, and literature, we undertook a study of his personal and scholarly life.
