Abstract

Anthony Seldon claims “Robots will replace human teachers by 2027”. (Houser, 2018) According to Seldon, the
transformation in the educational field with the changes occurring in the society, people, environment and science
is the reason for the replacement. In Indian educational system, the term ‘Guru-Shishya Parampara’, discusses the
bond between a teacher and a learner. Guru was considered as a spiritual guide responsible for imparting
knowledge and values to the learners. Post colonial educational system followed the same footsteps. At present,
with the upgradation in technology, COVID – 19 pandemic and generation filled with tech – savys the relationship
between teachers and learners has altered. The dependence, guidance, prominence and bond between teachers and
learners are replaced with internet and learner relationship. The search engines and chatbots has made learning
process easier and entertaining. This paper analyses the detached Guru – Shishya Parampara and attached Google
and AI bots through qualitative research.
