Abstract

The present study examines the psychological well-being and mental health of senior secondary school students with special reference to gender. A descriptive survey method was adopted, and data were collected from 80 students selected through multistage stratified random sampling from Mainpuri district. The Psychological Well-being Scale and Mental Health Scale were used for data collection, and the data were analysed using SPSS with descriptive statistics, stepwise linear regression, and t-test. The findings revealed that emotional stability, self-esteem, and social adjustment significantly contribute to students' psychological well-being and mental health. The study also found a significant relationship between psychological well-being and mental health, along with gender differences. The findings highlight the need for school-based counselling, mental health awareness programmes, and supportive educational environments to promote students' overall well-being.
