Abstract

This research explores the connection of affect theory and cybernetics to apprehend how psychological systems process information and generate responses. Affect, deals with human emotions, moods, and feelings which plays a vital role in shaping cognitive and behavioral processes. Cybernetics, the study of control and communication in both animals and machines, provides a framework for understanding the regulatory mechanisms involved in these processes. This research explores how affective states influence information processing, decision-making, and behavioral responses within the context of a cybernetic system. The methodology involves a literature review synthesizing key concepts from affect theory, such as the circumplex model of affect, and cybernetic principles, including feedback loops and control mechanisms. Key findings highlight the interplay between affect and cognition, demonstrating how affective states can bias information processing, modulate attentional focus, and shape decision-making outcomes. These findings have implications for understanding psychological phenomena, such as emotional regulation, motivation, and psychopathology..
