Main Article Content
Abstract
This study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of the in-depth analytical reading strategy in improving the reading comprehension skills of tenth-grade female students in Jordan. To achieve this, the researcher prepared a test consisting of (32) items, including (16) multiple-choice items, (15) essay items, and one rearrangement item, to measure their performance at the levels of reading comprehension: inferential, critical, appreciative, and creative. The study participants consisted of (62) tenth-grade female students in Jordan, from Al-Karama Basic Mixed School, selected using the convenience method in the second semester of the 2025/2026 academic year, and divided into two sections. One group, consisting of 31 female students, was randomly selected as the experimental group and taught using the deep analytical reading strategy. The other group, also consisting of 31 female students, was the control group and taught using the traditional strategy. The study results showed a statistically significant difference in the improvement of reading comprehension levels, both individually and collectively, between the performance of the two groups, favoring the experimental group. The study concluded with a recommendation to Arabic language teachers to train them on how to employ the deep analytical reading strategy to improve students' reading comprehension.
