Digital Mental Health Solutions for Health Care Professionals: A Review of Emerging Technologies and Their Impact on Workplace Well-Being

Abstract
Background: Healthcare professionals face increasing levels of occupational stress, burnout, anxiety, depression, compassion fatigue, and psychological distress due to demanding work environments, workforce shortages, long working hours, and exposure to traumatic events. The COVID-19 pandemic further intensified these challenges, highlighting the urgent need for accessible and effective mental health support systems. Digital mental health solutions have emerged as innovative approaches to address the psychological needs of healthcare workers through technology-enabled interventions. Objective: This review aims to examine emerging digital mental health technologies and evaluate their impact on workplace well-being among healthcare professionals. Methods: A narrative review of current literature was conducted using databases including PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, CINAHL, PsycINFO, and Google Scholar. Studies published between 2015 and 2025 focusing on digital mental health interventions among healthcare professionals were reviewed. Relevant evidence regarding mobile applications, artificial intelligence, telepsychiatry, virtual reality, wearable devices, and digital cognitive behavioral therapy platforms was synthesized.
